The tablet with Wi-Fi, will be available in stores and online beginning April 24 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $449.99.
The 10.1-inch Acer Iconia Tab A500 will be only the second tablet, yet released, running Android 3.0 or Honeycomb. The Acer also includes a dual-core 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 250 processor, integrated GeForce graphics, 1GB of RAM, forward- and rear-facing cameras, and a 1,280x800-pixel TFT WXGA display with an 80-degree wide viewing angle. An ambient light sensor and accelerometer round out the main features.
The new tablet comes with an integrated 16GB of flash storage and can support a larger storage capacity of 32GB, which is planned for future models. The microSD card reader supports up to 32GB cards.
This all comes in an aluminum-based design that weighs 1.69 pounds; it measures 10.24 inches wide by 6.97 deep by 0.52 inch thick.
The 16:10 aspect ratio display includes support for 720p video playback and can output 1080p video via its built-in HDMI port.

For $450, the Acer Iconia A500 is actually a very impressive device, and mostly matches the specs of the Motorola Xoom WiFI, which sells for$600. Along with the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, the Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a great option for those that would like to have an Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet, while keeping an eye on the savings.
